Thursday Morning Update
Visitations:
Visited
amberthistle last night.
brigittefires was there, and we watched the series finale of Buffy, then drooled over things we could never own from the series at http://www.buffyauction.com (gleee!!). We then went grocery shopping for dinner fixins and other stuff. I bought cat food for my poor starving fat cats.
Wound up cooking chicken alfredo for dinner over there. Came out really good. Added lots of parmesan cheese and garlic to the sauce we bought for it. This was a good thing. Made for very happy alfredo.
Watched the finale again when
griffonisrex got there. Ed (
amberthistle's fiance) got a real kick out of it. So, now I've seen it four times. :-p I have no life.
Gaming:
Really going to kill John now. I got confirmation from other players on something I figured out. He is so going to be in pain. Tormenting me with in-character knowledge spread between various characters making my head explode. He will pay for this. Oh yes, he will pay...
Reading:
I tried making a post before my amusement post last night, but LJ, being on crack, didn't let me.
I'm looking for book recommendations. Want to read something. Nothing pretentious, nothing overly sappy. Possibly something similar to things I've already read, but not necessarily. Not looking for something deep and philosophical, either.

Books
The Crown of Stars series by Kate Elliott. Amazing fantasy fiction (this comes from someone who HATES 99% of fantasy writing) set in a world loosely based on medieval Germany... the "fantasy" elements are a refreshing take on old standards, and the plot kept me hooked.
Biting the Sun and The Silver Metal Lover by Tanith Lee. She's an amazing writer and both of these novels will leave you breathless and amazed. Trust me!

Or know people at bookstores.
..
Gimme three book chances, and I bet I get one that you'll love.
And i have the biting the sun book(s) too. Very good, just finished re-reading them. Can be somewhat philosophical, though, but it isn't so overtly philosophical as ayn rand or something.
Remind me next time you are over, and I'll toss a few at you.
