[COH] Don't wanna jinx it...

I have this tendency to roll up Controllers, play them to level 5 or 6, and then forget they exist for a month and wind up deleting them for some other thing that tickles my fancy. That being said, I made a new Controller on Virtue that I'm enjoying for now. Mind/Empathy, has the first three Mind powers (Mesmerize, Lift, and Dominate) and Healing Aura and that's it. All slots into the Primary for damage right now. She can three or four shot pretty much all minions right now, it just takes forever. She can also keep pretty much any three enemies dazed and drooling for an entire fight. Well, until her end bar runs out anyway.

I sorta fiddled with a build for her, but not sure how it will all play out. I want to go minimal on the Emp part of her build, because I don't want her to be a "healer" per se. She'll be a very good backup healer, but not a primary by any stretch of the imagination. She will eventually pick up Heal Other and the true core EMP buffs (Clear Mind, Fortitude, Recovery Aura, Adrenaline Boost), but my focus with her is on her Controls.

That's kinda why I picked Empathy. I wanted her to be able to heal herself, but not have a Secondary with so much going for it that I'd feel guilty for glossing over it. I don't think I'll ever be able to play a /kin Controller, for example, for this very reason.

So, anyrate, new Controller. Her name is Psychademica. She's all pink and catsuity and has purple hair. And she's a Science origin character. My first in over six months...

That's pretty close to the build for my first and best controller (lvl 21 still, Prisha, mind/empathy). For issue 5 I've setup a fire/kinetics controller for the damage potential and good buffs/debuffs. I got him to 10 today, doing Frostfire with no team deaths.

If you get people who have done it before, Frostfire becomes a cakewalk. People just tend to go batty going "Oooh! It's a big boss! Must become mentally deficient for duration of mission!" and then I want to kick them in the head. I must have done Frostfire about six times with Hidden Justice back then. Good times. Kinetics is my friend.

Yeah, Kinetics is cool. I have a Mental/Kinetics on Virtue and an Illusion/Kinetics (my 2nd highest character) on Triumph. I'm usually more of a blaster/scrapper type but the Triumph controller kicks ass.

If you want to join us for our Strikeforce Phoenix ([livejournal.com profile] sf_phoenix) night on Tuesday, just send me a tell. Don't know who I'll be playing but you can catch me on global chat as @Hylandr. We usually have a decent group gathered on that night. It's our regular night when a number of the SG all tries to be there. It's not always just SFP either. Sometimes we play alts from other SGs or even have had others from those SGs join us. So feel free to come along if you want.

Coolies. If I'm on you can find me under @jdotmi. I'll add ya when I get home (provided I remember to log in, heh)! :)
