This is why I hate food

I had a big bowl of raisin bran for breakfast this morning. That's all. Then I came to work and got a bag of pretzels and a diet soda.

I am 20 minutes from lunch time, and my body is having a fit because it wants "real food". Which means it wants meat. It's this vaguely empty and shaky feeling in the pit of my stomach. I hate it. :-p

This is why diets don't work for me. The things I'd want to eat during them for breakfast (cereal) don't let me make it to lunch time without getting hungry. I prefer having omelets for breakfast (three eggs, two slices of cheese, three strips of bacon) with toast, but we don't have bacon at home and buying it here at work is not an option right now. :-p And that doesn't really work when on a diet. :-p

Hmmmm. Maybe a low-carb type diet is what you want/need then? Atkins/South Beach/etc let you eat all the eggs and bacon you could want. Wouldn't be able to have cereals and pretzels then though :)

I'd kill people if I went on one of those. I am a bread and pasta addict! I have pasta five times a week. And my omelets become a sandwich (I get toast with my omelet and half of it becomes a sandwich).

I could never ever ever do a low carb thing. Most of my diet centers around carbs: pasta, rice, potatoes, etc. The only protien I eat with any regularity is chicken and the occasional burger *g*

We eat lots of chicken. And lots of beef. :-p Meatloaf is a favorite in our house. As are casseroles involving chicken or beef.

Okay, I know that I have not seen you in like two weeks, but since when are you on a diet?

Oh, and if you EVER go on Atkins or any of those other carb cutting "diets", I will have to smack you :-P.

I'm not. :-p I was just pointing out why they don't work for me. :-p

Find a balance. Having some protein at breakfast is actually suggested. Add an egg white omelette?

My normal breakfast is plenty balanced. It's usually an omelette and toast and orange juice and skim milk. I was just in a rush yesterday. :-p

Damn, better than I eat.
