Mage's scare me
I just said "wow" like 5 times in a row.
I've been typing out lists of my character's powers for the game I'm playing in tonight. Got to Miranda's stuff. Entropy was boring (only 1 dot), Life was nothing new to me (3 dots). Got to Mind.
Really read Mind.
With 1 dot in Mind, a Mage may use a simple spell to increase ANY of her Mental Attributes temporarily. 1 point per success. Coincidental effect. Difficulty 4. Lasts a scene.
Her Arete is 4.
Wow.
"Hmm. I need to hack into this government agency/Technocracy computer. Here, let me boost my Intelligence first. Ok, rolled three successes. I have a 5 intelligence now. Time to get hacking."
Wow.
You could use it to increase your Wits score when a fight breaks out.
You could use it to increase your Perception score when trying to hear what someone is whispering nearby.
Of course, she can also use Life magic to improve her hearing. Well, Life 3 magic anyway. Much harder to do that way.
Hell, that Perception boost would pump up your Perception roll if you opted to use that for your Level 1 sensory magicks as well, especially since that is the only kind of magickal effect that doesn't require an Arete roll.
Wow.
Ok done being wowed now.
