Tuesday Morning Update
Administration:
Welcome to three new friends:
tetsubun_otaku,
ubdash, and
ultrabithorax. One is a re-welcome, one probably found his way from the re-welcome (or from the small group of people we already had in common), and the last had 9 people in common with me before today. :-p
Sleep:
I had some dreams which I do not remember in any way shape or form, unfortunately. That's ok. Went to bed fairly early last night, slept a bit, got woken up by Keith when he got home because I had a package in the mail that he wanted to open. He was vaguely confused by the contents, but that's ok.
I woke up at about 6:45 this morning. On my own. Not the groggy "oh god why am I awake" kind of waking up, but the *pop* eyes are wide open and perfectly willing to face the day kind of waking up. I could not stand for this so promptly put myself back to sleep.
I then had a dream I can remember, involving being in a car in Ann Arbor with some friends (who were not people that I know in real life) and we were leaving to drive to
templar_rose's place, albeit by driving past UofM hospital which is so not the way to get there from Ann Arbor, and
brigittefires was running up next to the car to tell me something about the game as we drove down the road. She kept up with us until we got past the hospital too, then I woke up.
Mail Delivery:
I received a package in the mail last night. Sadly, it wasn't a lifetime subscription to the porn mag of my choice. Happily, it was my signed copy of Four and Twenty Blackbirds by
wicked_wish! And there was much rejoicing! I read the first sentence or two before running out the door to go to work this morning.
Playstation2:
Been playing Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter the last couple days. I really like it. The first time you play it, it's very very HARD to get into. Fortunately, you start with an UberDood in your party to keep you from getting completely blitzed right away. This is a good thing. The game is very fun so far. I have not yet gotten to a point to use my Dragon Powaz in the game, and I plan on using them as little as possible (as to avoid having to start over too soon) but I still want to see them.
Nina starts the game physically decrepit, but sickeningly powerful if you play your cards right. I've gotten into quite a routine of Ryu - hack-slash-kick to Nina gasting G-Flare and making the enemies walk right back into the fire. Couple rounds later, hack-slash-kick straight into 3 G-Flare circles. All is good in the world.
I have yet to get my third party member, though. I should be running into her very soon in all actuality.
My only complaint is that the game looks to be really really short. Breath of Fire should always be huge and have this epic quality to it, you know? Well, not perhaps as epic as, say, Final Fantasy, but micro-epic. Mini-series epic. This just doesn't look like it has that.
My only other complaint is actually the strategy guide. It's the "official" one (brady games) and it is spoilerific. I must have gotten spoiled by the Final Fantasy strategy guides that were as spoiler free as they could be and still let you get things done. I mean, this guide gives away the ending of the game, for cryin out loud!
Gaming:
I really need to go write up Miranda's summary from last game. Lisa doesn't get one this week. Just Miranda. That's ok, her plotline went ahead big time.
