Monday Morning Update
Time for some real updatey goodness. You know, as opposed to all those fake updates I do when I have no business being awake on Sundays.
Administration:
Did some exhaustion-induced spring cleaning yesterday. Axed the majority of the communities I was in. Probably going to re-add
note_to_self and
note_to_cat though. Er... wait... I didn't delete them...
Ok so I'm still recovering from my coma last night. :-p Bite me. (no, that wasn't an offer)
Welcome to not-quite-new friend
schmoopee!!! I used to talk with her all the time on the Neighborhood 99 forums, but I'm not there as much anymore and don't see here there when I am.
Final Fantasy:
So, I've started playing Final Fantasy XI. I swore to myself I wouldn't, cuz I had no interest in an online Final Fantasy. Well, I still have no interest in an online Final Fantasy, but fortunately this doesn't feel like Final Fantasy so I'm able to get over it to some extent. Well, other than the fact that the keyboard controls suck more than something I probably shouldn't mention in mixed company even though that has never stopped me in the past. Despite the horrid keyboard controls (it's pasically a ps2 port to pc, and they did not go to any sort of effort to make the pc interface user friendly or provide a manual with any sort of sense of logic) I am enjoying it. Not as much as EQ, but then most everybody speaks English in EQ.
Yeah. Pet peeve number 2. They didn't open any new servers when they launched it stateside, so most of the time I play I get long strings of kanji in my chat window and have no way of communicating with half the people online. They have an autotranslate feature, but you have to use the canned expressions they have and, well, people ain't really using it from what I can see.
So far, it's fun. I won't be abandoning EQ any time soon, but I may have to split my time. Not that it isn't split enough as it is already. x_x
Sleep Deprivation:
So I was a flake yesterday. This is not a surprise to anyone who read my journal yesterday. :-p The real problem started when I got home. When I get super tired, I get cranky. That's never good. Cuz then I get more tired and then I get mood-swingy and nearly start crying because I don't want to go to sleep. o_o Fortunately that didn't last too long. That entire mini-coma thing. :-p Went to bed shortly after 9 and didn't want to get out of bed this morning. Got up a little after 7, though, so I wouldn't be late to work. :-p
Work Stuff:
My desk is a mess. Need to bring in some Meijer bags and take this bottle collection in to turn it into groceries. Or shampoo. Shampoo would be nice. You know, since I'm out of it. In terms of actual work stuff, I'm not doing the best at following up on my open cases. I'm doing better than some, but I could probably do better. Of course, I never think I do my job well enough, but that's just me.
Incoming Shopping Fun:
It's that time of year again! You know, that time where I get 40% off most everything that the company I work for sells? The weekend of the 15th, to be exact. Mind you, my schedule still sucks ass, so I'll probably do all my shopping on the 14th, which is technically when it starts.
Well, enough chat for now. More later. Probably.
