All City of Heroes, All the Time!
Little more detailed today. :-p
When I started last week, Kung Ru was level 28. When I ended last week, Kung Ru was level 30. Not bad if I do say so myself. I made something of a not-so efficient power choice at leve 30, but at 32 I can pick the power I shoulda picked in the first place. Not that it matters much. The power wouldn't get slots until 33 anyway at the earliest since I still have to put slots in Instant Healing. Oh, the power I took was Boxing (opening the fighting pool and thus Tough and Weave) and the power I will be taking is Dragon's Tail. Then it'll get all nice and slotted since the three slots I'll get at 31 are devoted to finishing off Instant Healing. Of course, 33 and 34 need to go towards six slotting my three main attacks, hasten, and starting to slot Dragon's Tail. It's all good though. Then I'll probably take Super Speed, Tough, Eagle's Claw, and Weave in that order.
So, the new zones I can go to. I'm not super fond of Founder's Falls at this point. It'll probably grow on me, but right now? Eh. It looks far too different from the rest of Paragon City. The building design is vastly different and it's very crowded and condensed. Plus there is the ludicrous nature of the enemies there. Circle of Thorns Behemoths on street corners, Rikti Headsmen milling about in their body armor. All the while the masses of people (and I see more pedestrians here than I have in any of the other city zones) just meander on about as if there was nothing amiss. I'm sorry, there's an 8 foot tall behemoth spewing fire 20 yards away, could you at least, ya know, freak out a little? One thing that fits in well with the architecture of the zone are the Nemesis. Met my first sniper while looking for a contact there. Killed the sniper without even blinking, but still.
Brickstown is a continuation of themes from King's Row and Independence Port. Very industrial. The enemies don't seem out of place, either. Freakshow fit the landscape, Crey aren't obscene looking, Fifth Columnists fit just about anywhere. I haven't fully explored the zone yet, but I'm working on it. I can pretty much avoid Prisoners if I want since I already got their badge when I was sidekicked with some Fourth Wall folk a couple weeks back. I need to really explore the area to find out what lives where.
Crey's Folley is a hazard zone. That pretty much sums it up right there. It's like they took King's Row and Boomtown and mixed them together. I obviously haven't gone that far in, but what I've seen so far is interesting. Not sure if it's going to be something that I want to look at on a regular basis. I'll probably go there when required and ignore it at all other times, like I currently do with every other hazard zone in existence. :-p
( Mission spoilers for Agent Six, Icon, and the City Representative )
I've got four contacts in Founder's Falls (and, wow, could these guys get any closer to mob spawn points??) and one contact in Brickstown. It's all really very boring. :-p I'm to a point where I'm like "okay, storyline injected into the typical Arrest Thugs In Warehouse mission, yadda yadda yadda, ooooh temporary power!" Missions are only exciting when they provide me with temporary power goodies now. :-p I still do all of them that I can, but they are a wee bit boring. Some storylines I want to see more of (Lost/Rikti. I know what's up, but I want to see it in game!) and some I've really lost interest in (Freakshow... why are you still around?).
Well, this post has run long and work is being insane, so I'm getting off of LiveJournal for now.
