Hellgate London is closing it's doors today in North America. The game, and company, sorta wound up being the definition of Epic Fail, but it's still no fun seeing it close. I enjoyed the game during Beta, and a bit after launch, but there just wasn't enough to it to keep people interested. Their planned business model really made no sense at all, either. So, the company folded and now a year later Namco is shutting down the servers.

I bought the Collector's Edition of the game. I'm not really upset that I did because I really did enjoy the game and think it had a lot of potential. The real reason it failed was the business behind the game, not the game itself.

Go google Flagshipped. Seriously. While the people on that site are very wrong about some things, they definitely got a lot of good information about what exactly happened to make the ship sink.
