Thursday Morning Update
Shopping Results:
I stopped at Borders on the way home from work. (That would be Borders the store as opposed to Borders the home office that I work at, obviously.) I picked up Roach and Heather's wedding present (a new copy of Changeling: The Dreaming) and got a copy of Sins of the Blood for Vampire. Hey, it's got Thaumaturgy stuff in it and new Paths of Enlightenment. It's amusing.
There was a third book that I bought there that was quite surprising. It's a d20 system book for a game that I have the original version of already. Needless to say, seeing it in d20 was, well, amusing. I am now the (proud???) owner of bESM d20! ~_^
Nothing beats reading the level advancement chart for a character class called "Magical Girl". ;-)
Giving the book a once over confirms it still has a lot of the original bESM in it. You can still buy Damn Healthy! as an attribute and the same general character concepts described in the original are preserved. The only thing that I was a little disappointed in was the lack of templated characters or example characters. The majority of the book is, obviously, devoted to character creation. It has considerable differences between standard d20 system character generation as well. Even having one template per class (of which bESM has about 15) would have been a great improvement.
Another interesting tidbit is that the book has a rebuild of the classic d20 D&D character classes to fit in with the way classes were designed in bESM. These use the 3.0 ruleset, with an aside box stating that the 3.5 revisions will be on the website since 3.5 was not out when the book was actually published. Of course, the documents aren't quite available yet, but you get the idea.
Breakfasty Goodness?:
I had an ok breakfast this morning. Well, let me rephrase that. I had what should have been a pretty nice breakfast this morning, if the damn cafeteria would actually toast the english muffins they use in the pre-made breakfast sandwiches. I had wanted to get two eggs over easy and a couple slices of toast, but this new cook they have had a huge mess up on the stove and the entire thing was just frightening. So, I grabbed two pre-made sandwiches and managed to eat them, although I did remove the horrible sausage patties from them. I grabbed a bagel for my troubles and toasted that up to get something satisfying in my stomach.
Gaming Thoughts:
I think I've made a decision on some of my characters for
templar_rose's game once this story arc completes. Planning on dropping at least three characters, possibly four. Only dropping four if I bring in a new character, though. I suspect that Morrighan, Arishayar, and Bei Ling will be the disappearing characters once all is said and done. Of course, with everything my characters are accomplishing, I could retire all of them and still have accomplished most of their major goals. :-p We'll see, though. Nothing is set in stone yet. Well, other than that thing that is set in stone, but that's just a piddly lil detail.
