SSX Tricky

jdotmiSo I figure I'll ramble about SSX Tricky since I have nothing else to do at the moment.
We bought a new memory card for our Gamecube since the one we had was running out of space. I decided to start a fresh game of SSX Tricky on it so that I could actually build up all the characters myself. Started with Elise (of course) and have already unlocked all the characters. She is in Trick Chapter 4 (because I'm too lazy to fight with it to finish it, even though I do sorta want the Uber Board). She just finished the Race portion of Aloha Ice Jam and is trying to finish the Showoff portion now. I've been doing Race - Showoff since the start. Heh, on her first new board I got nearly 300,000 points in Garibaldi's showoff. I'm way too good at that course. :-p My Tokyo showoff score was beyond insane. It's all about getting that trick meter full and hitting every air launcher and doing 2 uber tricks in a row off of each one. Trust me, you'll get more points than you know what to do with.
One interesting side-effect of doing this was discovering that her Ubertricks changed when she wasn't on her BX boards. o_O I hadn't realised that. Was doing a race on her Alpine board and was shocked at the tricks she did. They kinda sucked though. Oh well. Gonna try out a freestyle board and see how that goes. But, well, her BX tricks are far superior, and her unique trick can only be done on it, so I prolly will just fool around to see.
Once I finish all her races and showoffs, I'm going to finish her Trick Book and move on. Think I'll play around with Eddie next. If I get real bored I'll probably go through each character and complete their first 3 Trick Book chapters just to get them some clothing options. Hehe. Not really looking forward to Marisol and Brody, though, because I HATE ALPINE BOARDS. It's so annoying when they land backwards and rotate and you lose turn control for the 2 seconds it takes for them to turn around.
I know I'll have fun with Kaori. I played her before. It's really amusing to have her get into fights with people and listen to her jabber at them in Japanese.
I can't wait to see what Pipedream looks like. If it's better than Tokyo, I'll be in heaven. Untracked is such a huge disappointment. It looks ok, but it's... BORING. I mean, you can't even do any real races on it.
I sorta wanna pick up a copy of the original SSX just to see what it's like. From what I understand, gameplay is more or less identical, but there are no uber tricks and some different characters.
OH! Reminds me. One time with Elise I did a trick and it was called... "?" That was it. No name, no voice announcement, just a big ol "?" Maybe I over-rotated so much that the game didn't know what was going on...
