Do I sound like a broken record yet? Addicted much? Yeesh.

Anyrate.

Got to level 13 with Hidden Justice last night. Mostly good team, although we did have the Second Most Retarded Blaster In The World™ on the team for the first half of the play time. Something Like Mr.America O0 or 0O or something like that. Total retard who didn't understand the words "Tankers First" or the words "Get the fuck back here!" Then when Frostfire faceplanted him for his stupidity, he had the nerve to beg for heals and help. "There is only so much help you can give to the stupid" was my reply. The team really didn't like him. We were so sad when he left. There went our guaranteed aggro magnet. *sniffle*

Then the team make-up shifted. Lost both scrappers we had, gained a third tanker, gained another scrapper ([livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi's Night Ghost), gained Peacebringer and another defender. Three Tankers, two Defenders, one Controller, on Scrapper, one Peacebringer. I was in Kinetic Heaven. Everyone was on the front line and my buffs were making the team oh so nice. Of course, getting a Quantum Tank and several Quantum Lead Bricks during the second Frostfire mission we ran freaked the Peacebringer out big time. I watched his health go from full to red in one hit. I then started sniping the Quantum. Managed to keep the Peacebringer from faceplanting too.

Think I might do some exemplaring tonight. I need influence. Badly. Very Badly. At the rate I'm going now I'll hit 20 before I can get level 15 DOs in everything. :-p

Fine, send me emails about it. I ONLY have CoH to keep me occupied. The well seems to have dried up otherwise. :(

That poor second journal is getting all lonely and cold. It needs some writing love. *weg*

Quantum's actually hurt fairly badly when they hit others....just not as catastrophically as they do khelds. I''ve gotten in the habit of watching for that red glowy weapon. Though I get thrown off when Council robots and Galaxies start throwing those red/black/purple bolts, cause they look a lot like the quantum blasts.

I'm still quite unclear about what exemplaring actually does. It gets mentioned on occasion, but I can't find any good info. At least not in the handy game manual.

What lvls do you suggest for the FrostFire missions? I've got a few folks that are at that part of the arc.

See, I'd never seen Quantums until I started grouping with Kheldian on Virtue. :-p They never show up in Solo missions for Kung Ru for some reason. :-p

Oh, wait, I saw one on Pinnacle with her once during the Numina TF (the only TF I've ever done aside from the TV Respec).

Exemplaring is a process where a Higher level character artificially lowers their level to that of one of the other group members (who is called the Aspirant). They lose access to any powers gained after that level, but keep all their enhancement slots. They do not gain XP while in this state, but can reduce any debt they have at double the normal debt reduction rate. If they have no debt, they gain Influence at double the normal debt reduction rate instead.

The Frostfire mission can be done easily at the level it is received, although waiting to level up once before doing it is a good idea. All missions populate based on the level the character was when they accepted the mission. You will need at least three people to reasonably be able to defeat Frostfire with a minimum of death and destruction. He's an "Elite Boss", which means he's tougher than a normal boss, but easier than an Archvillain. And he has Fire Imps and Jack Frost. Fun fun. x_x

As far as I can tell, they don't show up if there's not a Kheld on the team.

There wasn't a Kheldian on that team. He was a part of the TF technically, but he had logged out shortly after starting because he had to go. He actually showed back up just after we had taken out Jurassik and finished the final mission.

My guess would be that having a Kheld being a technical member of the TF, though not logged on, might have caused the quantum to spawn. The only time I've seen quantums without having a kheld of my team was on the street, where they probably spawned from a squid flying by. :)

I have a pretty strong suspicion that quantums spawn if you've ever had a kheld in the current group. Last night I was playing with my regular Tuesday night group. Before we started, one of the members logged in his PB so he could fly to the mission (deep in the Hollows...which sucks for level 12 characters) and tp us to him. After, he logged off and brought his other character back in. For the rest of the night, we had quantums and voids spawning in groups, even though we never even entered a mission with the PB in our party.

From level 12 on I have few problems navigating the hollows, unless I get nailed by an alpha strike from a group of buckshots. It almost always will knock me down when that happens. :-p

Although, I am quite glad that they moved Julius the Troll. :-p his old location sucked. :-p
