I'm sure that everyone who plays has already heard the screaming about this, but I think it's kinda cool!

Alliance gets the Shaman class and Horde gets the Paladin class in the Burning Crusade expansion.

I'm totally gonna make a blue Shammy. And a blue Pally... but still. The Shammy is all I care about.


The Blood Elf lore... well it sucks. It's not like the Undead aren't already using the powers of the Light as priests or anything, so why the Blood Elves had to resort to serious amounts of magical experimentation to become Paladins is beyond me.

I'm really looking forward to the Alliance Shammy myself. I get a kick out of all the screaming about the whole thing. There are even a few people in my guild that said the usual, if they do this I'm quitting this game!!! I just laughed at them.

People will go off the deep end over the tiniest of things.

While I think it's kinda cool that there are classes in each faction that the other doesn't have, changing that fact isn't exactly going to make the game suck. People get upset over the dumbest stuff. Heck, now I'll be able to try a Shaman again, but still play with my guild buddies. < sarcasm >God, that sucks! I'm quitting this game! < /sarcasm >.

Well, my whole thing about this is that there are no longer any classes that are faction Specific, which kinda irks me. I mean, its like in CoX, when I bought CoV to be able to play Masterminds, Corruptors, etc, becasue they are not avalible on the Hero side. Plus, it seems like that are really making messed up stories as to how they are coming about. I am not saying "ZOMG! I quiting!!!!!" at this, it just made me a do a serious double take. As for the actual classes, I rolled a Shanmmy, played him for a couple levels, and he played like a Druid who didn't shapeshift (the animations for the first few spells are even the same as the Druid Spells). I am sure it gets different down the road, but I just couldn't get into the class. And like I said earlier, I think one of the real reason they are giving Pallys to Blood Elves is because they want more people to roll Hoarde characters (which honestly, is actually a fairly smart move on thier part). And honestly, the only real reason I can't get over this is the Lore they are creating, which sort of seems, well, not so thought out. Oh well, as long as I can still have my blue pally and my Blood Elf mage, I'll be happy :-).

Yeah. I liked the blue-name discussion as to the reasons. What it really boils down to is that old truth "Seperate but Equal is never Equal", and that's what the Shammy and Pally were supposed to be. They couldn't design any group content around either class without excluding one entire faction, so they didn't design any group content around them.

We all need WoW icons. I noticed my extreme lack the other day, but lack the drive to take the necessary screenshots to do it. :-p

Shaman are much more analgous to Paladins than Druids, although all three feel quite similar at low levels. Heck, EVERY class feels similar for about 10 levels or so. One thing I learned very very quickly is that every 10 levels, your class changes significantly.

All I know is that in the end I'm looking forward to getting my hunter to level 70, and also looking forward to starting up an Alliance Shammy. That'll make me happy.
