Kitty Update

We're home, Daniel's cranky and snoozing. He got a shot of antibiotics and we got some more antibiotics to give him for the next week. No blockate, so just a urinary tract infection. He was kind enough to bleed on the kitty weighing machine while we were there. -_- So at least we didn't have any doubt as to whether there had been blood in his urine. He had a slight fever, but the doctor said he'll be fine.

aww, poor kitty. Tigger's been through this twice now. Giving her the antibiotics sucked, but she was feeling better in days.

The last time, we tried liquid antibiotics, and it was pink and bubblegum flavored. By the end of the week, she was good at spitting the stuff back out and her chin fur was turning electric pink :-P

Just trawling the net, found a gaming article and followed the links - happened to notice this post - I guess the vet told you that in male cats cystitis like this [same symptoms anyway] is often caused by diet. We changed the diet of our cat, Ix, who regularly developed this condition and he cleared. Diet in question - dried cat pellets. Some is better than others, we switched to a recommended vetinary version from the more commercially available generics. [In my country it was from Epol, to Hills science diet but I doubt the brands have much meaning over there!]

Yeah the first question she asked was whether we had changed foods recently. We've been using the same brand of food for a long time now (years, really). I think it may have been some hairball treats we had started giving him, though. We stopped giving him those just in case.

He was pretty miserable after you guys left this morning and he was trying and trying.. I'm hoping there isn't a big mess when I get home. I did close the doors to my bedroom and the bathroom.. but they were in your room, and in particular, Daniel was under your bed looking at me with utter misery.
