JDOT SMASH!!!!
AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
You guys? Seriously? You guys? Remember how my last Xbox sorta kinda imploded and wouldn't show any video and we had to send it in and wait for an eternity to get a credit so we could go replace it? Well the replacement? THE FUCKING DVD DRIVE NO LONGER SPINS!
AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
JDOT SMASH!!!!
At least it had the decency to wait until after I beat Too Human.

Well, okay, Gran Turismo will be worth it. When it comes out in like 2010. :p

And didn't GT come out like 2 weeks ago?
I'm just saying, Microsoft has had PLENTY of time to fix the myriad of technical issues and yet we still hear stories of units off the shelves NOW that are getting Red Ring and worse even two years after launch. I honestly cannot understand why people would willing buy a machine with a KNOWN defect that has yet to be addressed in production. Or why Microsoft can't/won't fix it (aside from forcing people to buy a new unit two or three times).
The whole "More games on this one" argument is mostly moot because they both have nice libraries of shared and exclusive titles and it boils down to what a player will and won't play. They both have FPS, RPGs and RTSs on the market so it's not like one is "better" (sorry, that has always seemed like a weak ass argument to me). I'm saying on performance ALONE the PS3 does not have the issues that Xbox has. Plus that whole Blu-Ray thing.
But whatev.. Enjoy waiting on your (second?) replacement. =/

Almost everyone I know with a 360 has had it fail completely on them at some point or another. I think this one is still covered under warranty, and even if it isn't Best Buy will still repair it for me for free. I completely agree that Microsoft has really fucked up on this one. I've dumped quite a bit of money into the console, and there are a bunch of games that I love on it (Bioshock, Too Human, Blue Dragon) so I'm definitely keeping it. It just pisses me off that this one is having a relatively common error, which can probably be fixed pretty quickly by popping it open and repairing the drive, but it shouldn't be having this problem that is easily found via Google at this point. Heh.
Once I have money saved up we're going to get a Wii. The PS3 is last on my list simply because there are no exclusive titles for it that I "have to have". Both the 360 and the Wii have had exclusives we really want/wanted, so those are the first two to get. Once they announced that Final Fantasy XIII was going to be released on the PS3 and the 360 it sorta killed the need for the PS3 for me. The other big problem is that the versions of the PS3 you can get now that have larger hard drives have no backwards compatability, meaning I can't put my PS2 into storage if I want to finish Final Fantasy XII or play any of my PS2 or PS1 titles again. Right now there's only one classic Xbox game I own that I want to play still that is not supported on the 360, and I strongly suspect that will change in the fall console update.
