Ok so maybe that's a little melodramatic.

...

Ok, maybe a lot?

Anyrate. Here I am, updating again. I'm in semi-severe pain at the moment. Not as bad as yesterday, mind you, but pain nonetheless. I threw my back out at some point between Friday and Sunday and I spent most of yesterday in a whimpering heap trying to move. I will not go into the gory details other than to say I woke up in severe pain at 6 am and with a severe need to take a piss and finally made it to the bathroom to do such at 11 am.

I can at least already walk this morning. Yesterday I was walking around and whatnot by 6. Well, without need for the long umbrella to use as a cane. I'm already walking today so that is a good sign. Hoping to be all better by tomorrow so I can actually go to work again.

Saturday I went to the new Borders store in Brighton. Had to abuse my big employee discount, which was made even bigger by virtue of the fact that it was Employee Appreciation Weekend! Yay me! Bought lots of gaming books, of course. Picked out more to buy from Arborland on Sunday, but had left my badge at home so couldn't do it then. Then I couldn't walk yesterday to take advantage of the last day of the sale but that's ok. I'd rather be healthy and able to move about successfully than have four more gaming books.

Sunday we had big plans. I got home from work Sunday morning and waited for Keith to wake up. Wanted to leave around 10, didn't wind up leaving until 10:30, but still wound up having way too much time. Went and ate breakfast at Big Boy by where Denny's is at. Then went to Borders for a little bit, then went to PetCo.

Yes. PetCo.

Keith had shown me these pictures of some utterly adorable black kittens from petfinder.org. They were from a local animal rescue organization called Guardian Angel Animal Rescue. He knows me and my weakness for cats. However, I also know him and his fun allergy moments with cats. So, he tells me if I want to try to get them to email the people. So, of course, I do. I find out the two kittens I wanted would be at the PetCo in Arborland Mall on Sunday. So, we went to see them.

They were even more adorable than in their pictures! One is quite a bit older than in his picture. He was a small kitten in his picture and is now around 5 months old. The second had to be the runt of his litter. He's around 6 months old and very skinny, but so friendly and purrs constantly.

So, while we were there, we filled out an application to adopt them. We really wanted to bring them home then, but this shelter doesn't allow that. The directors of the shelter review each application and then make a determination. The woman who was fostering these two called us Monday afternoon to tell us we had been accepted! We will be getting the kittens delivered here on Wednesday evening! =^_^= One of the other women from the organization wanted to come with them when they were delivered. My guess is to see what sort of home environment they are moving into. We are both very very excited people. =^_^=

So, as I said, we were at PetCo on Sunday. By this point, the pain I was having was getting to be intense. We got home and we knew right away we needed to do some cleaning. We now have a clean living room and clean hallway. The dining room is almost done and hopefully will be done today. We already bought a litter pan for the kittens and a food dispenser dish. It's a small one that doesn't hold too much, which is good. And it's clear so we can see how much food is left in it. We bought two cute collars for the kittens, one with something of a leopard print and one with a zebra print. They each have a tiny bell on them so there will be no sneaking up of the kittens! We also bought a cat brush. One of the kittens has very short hair so shouldn't need brushed all that much, but the other one has medium hair and will need to be brushed more often. The very good news is that he loves to be brushed apparently.

So, there's my mile long update for the week. o_O

Next update.... KITTENS!!!!!!!! =^_^= =^_^=
