So, I watched Buffy last night. 4 hours of Buffy. And 1 hour of Buffy before work this morning.

Yes. I have Season 3 on DVD. *gleee*

The new episode, while really cool looking in the wildfeed summary I read, was not all that. There is a part where you can see the black cords they used for a special effect before the effect occurs and it's really really obvious they're there. It's bad. It's horrible. In a word, it sucked.

The oracle demon was stupid. It looked stupid. It looked like it was made of plastic. The entire scene with it was lame. I was like "Ooh, it's a room with black floors and walls, a flood light, and a really fucking stupid looking demon"

This is the first time I've seen the Slayers in Training. I missed the last couple of episodes, but of course read the wildfeeds. None of them impress me. The new one seemed kinda cool. And the girl playing Kennedy is not a great actress. At least, she's not seeming it now. I can only hope that she improves because otherwise there is really no reason why Willow would date her. It's just silly.

First-Eve was good. I watched her like a hawk to see how she played it, and she was dead-on perfect. Of all the performances, hers was the best. If you knew to look, you could see the nuances of her manipulation just under the surface and in her tone and her eyes. And she looked so incredibly furious in the last shot of her after Buffy (lamely) killed the UberVamp.

The amount of damage Buffy seemed to take compared to the wounds she wound up sporting was silly. The fight was ok, but it wasn't as impressive as any of the Buffy/Faith fights. Hell, the Buffy/Willow fight outdid this one by a mile and a half. This thing nearly killed Buffy before, they could have at least gone all out on this one.

What the hell is up with Buffy sporting Telepathy all of the sudden? People have said, "Oh it must have been Willow's powers doing it," but Buffy initiated it. She is the one who spoke to Willow's mind and she surprised Willow when she did it. You could see it on Willow's face. She accepted it, and I hope that it comes back later and is explained how Buffy developed this. We have known since "Welcome to the Hellmouth" that Buffy has special sensory powers waiting to be developed. This is probably part of it.

I think Anya is wrong about the cause of the weakness in the Slayer line. Well, I hope. It's too obvious to have it be Buffy's resurrection. I agree with other theories that it involves Faith. There is a small clue in the episode about that. The Slayer in Training mentioning that she heard there was another Slayer. I think Faith's stint in jail, not fighting the forces of darkness, and not dying so another could be called, is the true issue. To quote Angelus, "This isn't about you. It's never been about you, and you fall for it every single time."

I can't wait to see how they bring Faith back. I'm wondering why she is let out of prison. I know a Bringer goes to kill her and all that, or rather, someone with the same knife. And I know she'll be on a few episodes of Angel first before returning to Sunnydale. I want to know what she'll be doing though.

The only other good performances in this episode we're almost not even there. Anya and Willow. Neither had a lot going on this time, but they were both perfect. Anya is continuing her bout of self-doubt and questioning the choices of the gang and Willow is once again the skitterish witch who is afraid of her own shadow. Yet, both of them are strong enough to do what needs to be done and overcome their insecurities.

Xander needs more to do. He needs to be naked some. Er, wait... hehehe

Can't wait for the episode where we find out how Giles got through the nearly being axed bit. I don't remember if it's the next one or not. I'm tired of hearing the "He's the First!! OMG THEY KILLED GILES THEM BASTARDS!!" posts on every forum about Buffy. THEY DIDN'T FREAKIN KILL GILES!

Season 3. Mmm. DVD goodness. Watched "Anne", "Dead Man's Party", "Faith, Hope, & Trick", and "Beauty and the Beasts". God I love Faith. And, wow, Buffy still had boobs in Season 3. She lost them before Season 4 started. And Xander was still buff-boy-of-massive-drool-starting in season 3. He started to fill out in season 4 I think, but it wasn't until season 6 that he seemed to age alot. Of course, seeing as how all the actors are way older than their characters (except Dawn and Giles) this is not surprising.

Tonight I want to watch more Buffy... but... but... I think the last episode of Birds of Prey is tonight (*cries*) and I don't want to miss that.... Not that I've kept up after I heard the bad news about the show. I love that show. :(

I added someone to my friends page today. Sorta at random, sorta not. Found him on my friendsfriends page. He has some similar interests to me, so I figured why not. Ok yes he's cute too and that's always a plus, but he seems to have a functional brain and we all know how much a functional brain is a good thing. His name is [livejournal.com profile] ultraboy.

This post began at 10:58 and I'm just now hitting post... go me!

True, but Willow isn't a natural telepath. She used magic to initiate telepathy in Season 6, and she had been purposely not using magic for some time. It's possible though.
