Buffy was good tonight. Some parts of it seemed a lil uneven, and I think they could have done better camera work, but it was good. Mist-demon-thing sucked. Buff-demon-thing sucked too, but not as badly. It at least didn't look like it was pulled out of a bad cartoon.

If anyone was surprised to find out that the Slayer's powers came from Demons, they need to be shot now. It became quite clear to me several seasons back that this was the case. Season 4 finale anyone?

Principle Wood is, um, how to put this... badly written. The character just doesn't seem to have a defined personality to speak of. I mean, it shifted so quickly throughout the episode. I mean, it was like he was a slightly different person in each scene. I mean, yeah, we know he's going to try to kill Spike. Spike killed his mother after all. His behavior is just.. not consistent. I like the character and all, they just need to give him a solid characterization to work with.

Since I missed "Potential" I had not seen Amanda before. o_O Did they purposely find the most Plain Jane leggy thin girl they could fine?

I think a lot of people didn't like Buffy's bitchiness. I thought it was great. Everything she said was true, and it needed to be said. Not necessarily because it was all 100% true, but because it was 90% true and the girls had to know that she could not protect them by herself.

I can't wait for Faith to show up. That's really gonna throw the Potentials for a loop. Hell, it'll be interesting to see how Faith and Dawn interact, since we have never seen the two interact before. I mean, Dawn was written into the entire history of all things Buffy, so Faith should remember her. Heh. Wonder if Faith ever used her as a hostage?

Kennedy needed the little ego deflation that Willow gave her. Yeah the entire sucking the life force out of the girl you're smooching is a bad thing, but Kennedy needed to realize that this isn't all a game or a fun time. Yeah, she's experienced some bad things, but she was far too glib (and far too much like the old Faith) for her own good.

Ok, I need sleep. To bed with me!

Re: Season 4 finale

While it was a way of awakening the First Slayer, what defeated Adam was more the Buffy/Giles/Willow/Xander combo ("Take us to the vessel ... now"). Basically, what they did was "an affront to the source of that power."

While it's clear they have something planned with Wood, they're just cramming him in here and there. I mean, the episode doesn't have the same promise that tonight's episode did. I'd like to see more focus on Wood and Spike. Something has to happen. Maybe Spike will kill Wood in self defense or some crap.

Whatever happens, Faith needs to get there. NOW.

Actually, I was referring to Buffy telling Adam in her dream that "We're not demons". And him questioning that "fact".
