!Let it Snow:
I hate snow. I believe I have stated this before, but I just wanted to make it clear. I hate snow. I especially hate the morons who can't drive on it safely. You know, like the truck who insisted on going 65 down US23 last night despite the fact that the road alternated between being almost clear and being completely covered in slush.
Gehenna:
Took a deeper look at Gehenna last night before going to bed.
Oh, if you care, there are total Vampire spoilers up the yin-yang here. I don't care. You bitch about it I smack you with a clue-by-four. The last Vampire book is already out. If you feel like I'm now ruining it for you, get a life.
Observation number 1: The cover is the ugliest thing they have ever pulled out of their asses. The artwork picture is ok, but the peanut-brittle dyed red overlay on the vampire-green marble looks way dumb.
Observation number 2: The book doesn't suck as badly as my initial reaction to it. Mind you, it still sucks.
Four scenarios. Two of which may theoretically be worth your time. One of which is fun if you have zero crossover. One last one just seemed asinine. Going to force msyelf to browse it again just to make sure I'm not delusional.
Wormwood is the best of the four. No if's and's or but's about it. It could be better, a lot better, but it's good. It's also the only one of the four which doesn't blatantly suffer from SuperStorytellerCharacterGetsToDoAllTheCoolShit syndrome.
Fair is Foul is the second best of the four. However, it begins the neverending cycle of SuperStorytellerCharacterGetsToDoAllTheCoolShit syndrome. I mean, it has, in no uncertain terms, both Lilith and Caine in it. Sorry, but neither of those characters would ever show up in a game I ran and if I played in one in which they did show up I would smack the Storyteller into next week. The ending has the most potential for sick and twisted nonsense, but...
Sadly, I don't remember the titles of the other two. I need to re-look at them, but they were painful to go through the first time. Now, yeah, the one were Vicissitude/Tzimisce goes bezerk has the funny in it (I mean, come on), but it's way too apocalyptic for Vampire. It pretty well destroys most of humanity with it, after all. And the one with SaulotBaby ends with SAULOT HAVING THE FUCKING CAMPAIGN DEFINING MOMENT. Sorry, but NO! The only redeeming factor in these is the drop of the Masquerade.
Wormwood and Fair is Foul both have the best tonal ending for a very important reason. The best thing to put across during Gehenna is that, now, Kindred are not important to the world anymore. They are past their time, and the world goes on without them without really missing a step. God cursed these creatures. The world doesn't need them and doesn't care about them. Everything they plotted and planned and devised is for naught because, frankly, no one else cares.
OH! I just remembered. Best part of the book. Last page. All black. Text. Vampire: Requiem. New System.
*snicker*
Although, as a side note, it would be nice if they did one system for all the game lines and finally accpted the fact that their characters do crossover chronicles all the time.
