Vanishing Act:
Yes indeed, I was on vacation last week. In case you all missed me not being able to wait for it to happen. The 25th had been my last day of work until the 3rd, when I went back to Booth.

Saturday morning (3/27), I woke up pretty early. Of course, the only things awake in my apartment before me on most days are the cats. And they are only in it for the food. So, woke up, got myself ready, [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi woke up, we overfed the cats (read, dumped enough food for three days into their bowl and prayed they didn't binge and vomit), packed our stuff, and headed out on a grand adventure! You know, two and a half hours or so of sitting on your ass while driving to the other side of the state to visit friend and game. Adventure! Really!

We got to [livejournal.com profile] lilacmoon5's place and we met their kitties (who are really cute and friendly) and proceeded to have a very relaxing weekend. Much cake was had by all (except [livejournal.com profile] lilacmoon5, even though she baked it). Much inability to shift a car into first gear was had by [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi. Game was fun. It got a little rushed, but that was because none of us wanted to sit through the boredom of combat if we didn't have to. Besides, the story was quite fun to get through. Then we played lots of Flux and had food and chatted and stuff. Flux and discussing Shadowrun dominated most of Sunday, until [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi and I finally decided we really needed to get home before Monday. :-p

The rest of the week was very nice. We went and bought season 4 of Deep Space Nine on Monday, !impulse bought an X-Box on Tuesday, and then got sucked into the eternal hell that is NewGamesZombitude for the remainder of the week. It's a !impulse buy because we had said we would consider it if the price went to $150 or lower, which it did. We did get out and rent a few movies (Mona Lisa Smile, Something's Gotta Give, and School of Rock) and a game (Hunter: The Reckoning - Redeemer), and actually managed to get some cleaning done, but still.

So. The games we bought were Halo, Project Gotham Racing 2, and Knights of the Old Republic. I, uh, sorta got sucked into KOTOR pretty badly. :-p And Hunter when we rented it. I think I've almost beaten Hunter, and I have two initial planets left on KOTOR. [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi has been having fun with Halo and Gotham.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and I was forced to return to work this past weekend. *sniffle sniffle cry pout* Watched lots of Angel this weekend. Getting into episodes I hadn't caught before. I missed a lot of season 3 because, well, I sorta lost some interest. Time slot changes didn't help much either. And the storyline was going kerfluey. It was as if it couldn't decide if it wanted to go all arc-y or if it was going to go stand-alone with some arc. Season 4, however, sucked me in like a hoover. And season 5. And the WB needs to die now. Er, oops, tangent there.

So, yeah. Vacation, much fun. New games, much fun. Finally figuring out my nun for Shadowrun, much fun. Having to come back to work? Not so much.
