Wednesday Morning Update
Dinner Dates:
Red Robin last night was a lot of fun. I got there first, followed by
dianak. She wasn't even there for five minutes before
amberthistle called to make sure we were still there. Then she arrived with her friend, Liz, and we all ordered dinner and chatted for a good long while. It was really fun, and Liz is a riot. Turns out that she worked at the same place that
dianak worked at for a while, albeit five years prior. Talked about temping, since all three of them have done or currently are doing temp work. Talked in particular about some of the more... idiotic members of the temp talent pool. You know, the 18 year olds with the hip huggers and the bubble gum who couldn't tell a postage stamp from a hole in their heads. Much fun was had. Much food was consumed. We almost escaped the hell that is stupid people having birthdays there. Almost. Not completely. *sigh*
SSX3:
I wasn't going to play last night, but I decided I wanted to try to get more gold medals for Elise. Well, I failed. I did not get a single gold medal I hadn't been able to get previously.
Instead, I got two platinum medals.
O_O
The first one was a complete accident. I was trying to get gold in the "big air" event on Peak 3, which I had only been able to scrape a bronze out of before. Wound up getting bronze my first time through it. Then I tried again. First run through it I got 225k points. So, I did the final run and restarted six times and got the 220somethingK again. I didn't know how many points I needed. So, I saw "1st place" and saw a silvery looking medal and was pissed that I got silver. Then the announcer said "Elise Riggs will receive a Platinum Medal" and I squeaked. Yes, I squeaked. It was really sad.
So, then I went and tried to do the same on Peak 1's big air. I still can't manage Platinum on that. Instead, I went down to Peak 1's superpipe and pulled over 700k points and got a Platinum there.
I saved that replay.
EverQuest:
Yesterday was supposed to be EQ day. I guess I will need to make today that. I'll set the VCR to record Angel, cuz I'm not really in the mood to watch it today. Play me some EverQuest, get me level 33 if I'm lucky. Heck, if I'm really lucky I'll get 34 and really shock the hell out of myself. I'm not counting on it, but a boy can dream.
There is one small, tiny danger to this theory, though. Final Fantasy XI has been released. Now, once upon a time I said I had about as much interestin FFXI as I had in drilling a hole through neck, but.... What can I say, I'm a sucker for peer pressure. Thinking about it, but I doubt anyone actually has it around here. They might, but I doubt it. It just shipped yesterday after all.
Worky Worky:
I suppose it wouldn't kill me to actually get to the work portion of my morning. Laters!
