So, like, one of my favorite authors ever (who has only published one novel) is going to be at Penguincon this year... I actually have an autographed copy of her book.

Wil Wheaton will be there, too. And Fred Gallagher. And Steve Jackson.

I suppose I could mention Neil Gaiman being there, but that would indicate that I've ever really intentionally looked at any of his work, not counting looking at the covers of graphic novels at the store. I realize this fact could get me lynched by several people on my friends list, but that's ok...

Almost tempted to go.

neil diamond?

Went to a Gaiman signing once, and a passerby asked me who we were waiting in line for. I answered, but they thought I'd said "Neil Diamond" which made the other people in line titter. So after that, everyone started saying "Neil Diamond." (Fascinating story, huh?)

Well, if saying "Neil Diamond" makes people laugh, saying "Neil Gay-man" makes me laugh even more! (I always pronounce it "Guy-min" anyway because the other way sounds too strange, in mixed company.)

I always assumed it was pronounced "guymin" myself. o_O I'd probably look at people funny if they said it the other way.
