Thursday Update Thingamobopper
Administration:
Welcome to new reader,
cpj!
It's been a lil bit, but a reminder that I have a Filter Poll ready for the taking. Not that I actually use my filters... but I do now and then. And that local filter will soon get a workout as I plan a Buffy party. (The filter poll is a friend-locked post. If you can't see it, you may not be logged in.)
Work Work Work, Blah Blah Blah:
So, like, we had one of those big inspirational meetings today and have another scheduled for tomorrow. Todays was the "yes, we know we just dropped 20 people from the overall department like the worst wannabes on American Idol, but you should be really excited!" meeting. Tomorrows will be the more detailed version of that, including footage from the absolute worst auditions ever. Yes, this is the work stress that set me off a few posts back. The meeting was great until the end when the VP started doing the entire super-pep-talk bit. Then some of my co-workers and I just looked at eachother and rolled our eyes. Cuz that just screamed "A sequel is coming! A sequel is coming!"
Don't get me wrong. I love my job. I like most of the people I work with. I lust after a few of them now and then too, but that's beside the point. It's a good job, it's mentally stimulating, and my supervisor and manager seem to have their heads screwed on straight most of the time. It's the way upper levels that unnerve me. They want to communicate the big picture to all of us, but the big picture is looking a wee bit out of focus.
Food food food:
So, I started making an effort to reduce my food intake. I have succeded with breakfast and lunch. I have not been quite so successful with dinner. x_x It's a work in progress I guess.
Oh, and before anyone even attempts the "but you shouldn't eat less! you should eat healthier!" bullshit with me, be aware that I currently eat more food than Shamu. I NEED to eat less.
Angely Goodness:
Watched this weeks episode. Well, other than parts of it. Like Andrew drooling all over Spike. Didn't need to watch that, as amusing as it was. Loved the ending. Perfect set up for next week. Especially since I'm a spoiler whore and already know what happens next week and already know a pretty major spoiler for episode 15 which I'm guessing is going to set up the season-end story arc, which is unfortunately looking like a bit of a re-run...
Must record next weeks episode. Must record Cordy goodness.
Good to see that Charisma Carpenter was just as squicked about the EvilCordy/Connor storyline, if not more so, as the entirety of the fan community. The story was interesting, if very sick. Also interesting to read between the lines in interviews which basically have her saying "I didn't want to get fired, but now I get to spend time with my husband and son so I'm happy!" Even more interesting to read between the lines of other interviews which, when read together, read as "SMG is being a complete divabitch, but we'll kiss her ass from here to Timbucktoo if it will get her to actually do an episode of Angel."
Ok. Enough of that. Time to go glance at the "friends" page.
