Angel is being cancelled.

That is all.

You know, that's odd - they did a whole big article in TV guide devoted to Angel - and now they cancel it?

Huh...

Yeah I know. It's all sorts of stupidity. :-p

This is upsetting. Sure the show isn't nearly as good as it used to be but it is still one of the only things worth watching on network TV. I got into it kind of late and still have to finish watching season 3 on DVD and I haven't seen any of season 4. At least I have plenty more to watch. Still upsetting. And it isn't like the WB has anything else! Angel is all they have!

It's actually been having higher ratings than it did last year. And they keep improving. I guess it was just too expensive for the WB. I mean, after all, their highest rated show is Reba...

Their highest rated show is Reba? That is just so sad... Why does that woman have the haircut of a 20 year old?

HOw silly, especially since this season is better than the last one.

The ratings have been consistently higher than the last couple seasons and the show has been getting all sorts of rave reviews. It's really dumb.

I honestly think the WB is responding to a conservative push from a certain segment. They're putting out the most Wonderbread programming imaginable.

There are a few wild theories floating around. One is that the WB is getting back at Joss & Fox for Buffy going to UPN (when the WB didn't want to pay what Fox wanted). The other is that they are trying to leverage David Boreanaz into doing Superman.

My thought is that it's just too expensive for them. I mean, hell, they still have Charmed, which, well, is lame.

It's sad when taking Shannen Doherty out of a show makes it really stupid. And yes, the show has never been very good, but the few shows I saw when they had her character on them were much less hokey.

Re:

That's because Shannen does dark and light really really well. The rest of them? Not so much. Pretty much all of their episodes are stunts now. The Legend of Sleepy Haliwell??? I Dream of Phoebe?!?!???

Whatever.

Yeah, I saw those previews. I snorted derisively, too.

That just sucks. I love Angel. Now what am I going to watch? *pout* Any idea of when it will be over?

They just aired episode 13 for the season so I think they have 9 left for the season.

"Angel" is great...but I hate what they did with Cordelia. But I also heard Charisma in an inteview that Joss was thinking this would be the last season and he wanted to "tie up any loose ends".
I kinda miss them in the hotel. The whole Wolfrom & Hart thing just isn't working. I wonder if UPN still has the option of picking 'Angel' up, not like fans in Michigan will ever see an episode...damn sports!

Re:

Actually the entire Wolfram & Hart thing is working. This season has the highest ratings of the series. And they've just been getting higher.

The main difference between this and what happened with Buffy is that Buffy's contract with the WB was up and the WB didn't want to pay what Fox was asking for it. This time, Angel's contract wasn't up, but the WB didn't want to pay what was required for it. So, who knows.
