Well, since this is one of those silly holidays which, in the U.S., is really just an excuse for people to get stupidly drunk and puke on each other, I thought I'd put in my two cents.

I do have Irish heritage (my grandmother called us all heinz 57 varieties, and she wasn't kidding). My family is mostly Protestant.

satyr_mi does have Irish heritage. His family is pretty much all Catholic.

Amazingly enough, we haven't tried to kill one another over this.

We have, however, both rolled our eyes mightily at the notion.

Hmmm.... An Irish Protestant and an Irish Catholic living with each other.. My god... That's almost like a Confederate living with a Northerner... :)
