I don't remember exactly when I woke up. I've been having problems staying asleep lately. My bed is really old and doesn't really have anything resembling support anymore, so I wake up with some pain which pretty much forces me to get up and get on with my day. Plus it doesn't help to have a cat who demands attention starting at 6a.m. because his food dish is empty.

So, I got up, fed the cats, and proceeded to start my morning. I took my shower and got dressed and got my bag together to take to work. I managed to forget to bring my book with me, which was quite annoying. I decided to play some City of Heroes before heading out the door, so I did. I don't remember what character I played, though. I think I played Jareth Infinity, my newish blaster.

I finally headed out the door. I didn't eat breakfast at home because I played City of Heroes too long. I drove in to work. Took the semi-back way since US 23 was a parking lot by our apartment. Got in a little bit early, got some breakfast, and punched in for work.

My work day was pretty typical for a Monday. We always feel understaffed on Mondays. Somehow our callstats for last year seemed to indicate that it was okay to have a quarter of our techs scheduled off on Mondays. I'm not sure how, but that's the way it works here. Nevermind that every other Monday is the day that payroll gets processed and that the Monday's that payroll doesn't process there are other payroll related things to deal with. We always get lots of calls on Monday. Our horrific hold time from Monday attests to this.

Every Monday I have an escalation meeting to attend with our POS Group. That would be Point of Sale, although sometimes other translations can fit as well. That meeting was fairly standard with nothing much out of the ordinary. I did get called in to a last minute meeting later in the day. Well, it was last minute for me. My supervisor isn't feeling 100% and had about 5% of her voice yesterday. She wanted me there in case she couldn't talk. :-p

After work, I was planning on doing a quick Meijer run for cat food, soda, and milk. [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi asked me to pick up a canister of Carnation Instant Breakfast as well. One would think that four items on the list would translate to a low bill. $70 later, I had basically done our weekly shopping for two weeks. We probably will have to buy more lunchmeat, but still. Stuff was on sale. I bought said stuff. I managed to avoid buying a lot of said stuff, however. We've got enough dry food to last us half a month if we cooked and ate nothing else. Seriously. And that doesn't include the huge amounts of Ramen we bought the other week.

So, I got home. [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi had made a casserole for dinner, so I ate a bowl of that. Played some City of Heroes with him, and said a few times that I needed to change the cat boxes. I never managed to get to that last one. I'll have to do that tonight. After we stopped playing, we sat out in the living room and talked for a little bit. Cuddled a little bit, which was mostly me using him as a pillow since I was so damn tired. I then decided to go read a bit and go to bed.

Since I keep mentioning I'm reading books and not mentioning them, I suppose I should do that. :-p After seeing Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban a couple weeks ago, I decided to re-read the series. I'm currently in the last hundred pages or so of book 2. I'm hoping I'll be able to re-finish book 5 in this read through. I get about halfway through it and want to kill Umbridge and Harry and Ron and Hermione. But mostly Umbridge.

I hate hate hate US-23 in the mornings. And in the evenings. It's a pain in the ass. BTW, did I ever ask you where in Whitmore you are? I'm half-convinced you're my secret next door neighbor. ;)

I live in Westbrook Apartments, across from the old-folks home and next door to the new police/fire station. I keep wondering where in Whitmore you're at, too. :-p

I've got three routes I take to get into work, and a fourth route I take to get home. There's the US 23 -> 14/23 -> 23 -> Washtenaw Ave -> Carpenter -> Ellsworth route in. There's the Whitmore Lake Road -> 14 -> 14/23 -> Carpenter -> Ellsworth route in. Then there's a route that goes way out to the back of beyond, but I normally don't use it because it takes much longer.

To get home, I take Ellsworth -> State -> 94 West -> Jackson Road -> Maple (left) -> 14 -> 23. I leave here at 5:30 and I'm home by 6, barring heavy traffic and construction. Unfortunately, there isn't a real way to reverse the route because 94 is insanely stupid to drive in to Ann Arbor in the mornings regardless of which direction you go.

Aha! I'm in Whitmore Lake Apartments, on E. Shore--at least for the next couple of weeks. Then we're moving to the new "manufactured home community" (yeah, trailer park, whatever :P) out on 9 Mile. We looked at Westbrook, I think, but WL had better rent specials at the time. So we were almost neighbors! :)

I've used both of the routes you mentioned to get in, but I keep forgetting the idea of 94 -> Jackson -> Maple for the way home. Silly, since I worked in Dexter for years and used that way to get to Whitmore all the time. I may have to try that tonight. 23 has been making me insane the past couple of nights. Too bad our work schedules don't coincide more, or I'd bug you about car pooling--then again, maybe you consider yourself lucky. ;)

We didn't really look at too many places. We basically moved here because my sister lived up here (she got a bonus for the referral) and we got our first month's rent free (pro-rated over the first year). After we moved up here we started looking around, but not much.

I've actually not been around much of Whitmore Lake. Basically Main Street and that's it. I only knew of the one other apartment complex in town which I cannot remember the name of now. :-p

I'm actually hoping that [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi gets a job here so he and I can car-pool! ^_^

You know, I end up doing the exact same thing. I had the hardest time reading book 5 becaues I hated Umbridge so much. :p

I had no problems the first time through because I couldn't wait to see her get what was coming to her. The second time I tried, though, I kept hoping one of the kids would go "Fuck it!" and use the Avada Kedavra on her, to hell with the consequences!
