jdotmiOnce again, I'm not entirely certain when I woke up. I think I woke up later than most days, because I was up late reading. Probably around 7:00 a.m. I finally gave in to the cats and got up. I don't think I even ate breakfast at home. I think I woke up, fed the cats, futzed around on City of Heroes without really doing anything, got a shower, got dressed, and headed in to work. I ate breakfast at work, punched in, and went about my day.
Tuesdays normally involve a staff meeting. It got cancelled, and the work day in general wasn't very memorable. We have this tradition of Tuesday being the "Day of Rampant Stupidity", but amazingly it did not happen yesterday. It was a little distressing.
The only real excitement that was remotely to do with work was the near-worldwide DNS outage that briefly affected some popular sites (google, yahoo). We didn't notice it's impact at all in terms of calls coming in from stores, but we did have some slowness in browsing.
I did a lot of reading of City of Heroes forums in between catching up with my cases and taking calls. I have pretty much at this point decided that if I see the phrase "nerf blasters" in a post that I am automatically one-starring the poster, unless they are telling the nerf-happy masses that they are morons.
The drive home was kind of long. There were a few traffic snarls on 94 due to morons who can't pay attention to the pending construction lane shifts. And apparently 14 was getting heavily backed up for some reason, but I wasn't on it long enough to find out what it was.

satyr_mi had just gotten home from his sister's with something resembling good news (a check! finally... whew!), and I decided to make manicotti, since we had it. In an act of sheer stupidity I managed to shatter the glass lid to the dish I used to bake it in (note to self, aluminum foil is your friend), but the food was fine and we cleaned up the mess with no issues to speak of.
Played some City of Heroes. Learned that the new update patch is in testing, so I made a directory for the test client, but the server was down. So I played my blaster some, got him almost done with level 8 and with three pending missions before opting to log off, finish my book, and go to bed.
Overall, it was a fairly dull day. There were some livejournal posts that kept me entertained, but in general the day wasn't particularly memorable.
Well, okay, it was a Very Good Day™ due to the good newssatyr_mi walked in the door with, but the rest of it was just sorta blah.
I did sorta freak outsatyr_mi when he showed me the mail. :-p But it was because I was soooo relieved and he wasn't really aware of exactly how stressed out I've been. I am the master of hiding my stressyness. Seriously, folks.
