Bought Kill Bill Vol. 2 last night. Watched it with [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi and [livejournal.com profile] carebear_flare. It was good. I liked Vol 1 better, but it was still very good.

It's my Friday! This is definitely a good thing. Especially since it seems that allergy season has gone into full swing. I got stuffed up yesterday, woke up at 5:30 this morning due to it, and one of my co-workers is also having a stuffy-head party of doom. Thankfully, I'm taking my Tylenol Allergy Sinus Daytime meds. That's some good shit.

Not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of the week, though. I really only have two days off, then it's back to my weekend job. Still, it's nice. The weekend is going to be boring for me, though, since [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi is meandering on over to Kalamazoo to help [livejournal.com profile] paeryn and [livejournal.com profile] bluedepth move into their new house.

Let it never be said that I am not at total spoiler whore. Not that this is news to anyone. But I just went out looking for spoilers on Broadway shows. :-p The joys of google searching. I suppose I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't figured out who a certain character in Wicked really was by listening to the soundtrack on my way to work. So, now I know for certain (and I was right) and have read some of the big "spoilers" for the show. Now I must see it. Right now. This instant.

Okay so I'll wait. :-p

My birthday is coming up. I suppose I could be excited about it, but, eh, it's a birthday. :-p Whee. In that "yawn whatever" sense of the word. :-p I suppose if I actually ever made an effort to do something fun and interesting on my birthday I would be more excited. :-p Never been much of a birthday party person, though. Of course, that could be because I had like no friends growing up (okay, I had like three), but still.

Well. Two days off coming up. We'll see how they turn out. :-)

Back to work with me.

Wicked's such a great show. I've seen it twice now (once when [livejournal.com profile] cincycub came to NYC).

Since I don't live remotely near NYC (hellooooo Michigan), I don't get to see nearly enough shows. :-p

The only show I've ever seen in NY is Les Miserables, which I saw my freshman year of college when I was there to sing at Carnegie Hall.

Maybe I'll make [livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi take me to a show the next time we head out east to visit relatives. ^_^

You know Wicked is based on a book of the same name by Gregory Maguire, right? It's well worth a read. :)

Aha. Well, you made a comment about spoilers, so I wasn't sure you were familiar with the story. :)

The musical is based on the book, but the particulars are significantly different. Sorta like Wicked is based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, but the particulars are significantly different.

The origins of some characters are different, as well as the paths their lives take. It's actually really quite cool.

Wicked Spoilers

From: (Anonymous)
There are PLENTY of them in the show. And they leave them all out on the cd on purpose. Seeing the show brings the whole story into a different light. Such as... in Dancing Through Life, Galinda isn't being nice by giving the hat to Elphie. There's dialogue there that is NEEDED for the song but they cut for time. Also there's more at the Ozdust Ballroom that leads you to believe OTHER things about the characters.

Read the book too. It's amazing but different from the musical. They changed the ending completely.

Anyway... just wanted to say that.

Yeah. Some of the bits are obvious from the songs. Of course Galinda is being mean to Elphaba with the hat. She's a full on bitch at that point and can't stand her.

Loved the book. Love the music for the musical. Now I just need to see it. :-p
