Last election update
The only thing that really bugs me about the election is Proposal 2 in Michigan and the similar proposals in other States.
In two years we get to try again on the House and Senate. Get people you like in there and you have an effect on the rest of the government for six years.
We survived 8 years of Reagan, we can survive another 4 years of Shrub.
Don't like the current political parties? Work on getting the candidates you want exposure. They're going to be pretty useless as Presidential hopefuls for a while yet (although if you find a good strong candidate by all means bring him or her forward, they may surprise us all), but in State governments and in the House of Representatives you are more likely to have a positive effect.
If you voted in the current election, keep your voice heard. Write to the people in office. Make sure they know where you stand and where your vote will go.
If you did not vote in the current election and were able to, my recommendation would be to go crawl under a rock and die. Record turnout is great, but 60% turnout is still pathetically low for what it should be.
If you voted Yes on Proposal 2 in Michigan, or any similar measure in other States, get the fuck off my planet.
And in other news, I have not yet vomited pure molten chocolate. I'm working on it! :-p

If you're arguing that Kerry should have given up, I think they're two totally different subjects.

Kerry didn't give up. He conceded the election because it is quite clear that he didn't win it. He can do more good by doing that than he can by dragging it kicking and screaming into court. And, who knows, in four years he might just try again and win. It's happened before.
