Smallville - 6.1: ZOD

Just got done watching my TiVo'd recording of the season premier of Smallville.

Without going into too much spoiler territory (nobody died, everything's changed, and Kryptonian women either have preternaturally shiny lips or they have a lip gloss factory in the Phantom Zone), this was bar none the best episode of the show ever aired. It's even better than the Pilot. And every single character but Lois got to shine in a million different ways. (Lois was, well, unconcious for all but 5 minutes of the episode, so she didn't get a lot of chances there. The 5 minutes she had? Iconic.)

If they keep this up for the rest of the season, they will far surpass any previous season.

I really need to catch up on that show. Never remember to watch it any more. I haven't in ages. I think I caught 1 or 2 eps since Lois joined.

Heh. Well, you didn't miss much in Season 4. There were great moments, and soe characters seemed really cool, but then it all just went to hell in a tea cozy.

Season 5 was pretty good, though. There were a couple clunkers (such as Aqua), but it was good.

But the premier of season 6 just kicked all sorts of ass.

Heh. I need to get season 5 on DVD. I literally just started watching the show last year. :-p

Damn. I missed it with everything going on.

I don't know if you know yet, J.D., but I'll be moving back to MI in three weeks. If you don't mind keeping Zod on your Tivo a few weeks, I'd love to be able to come over and get caught up.

TWOP will have a (snarky, of course) summary up soon. So far, all the posts there have been all "this ep kicked ass" so I expect the summary and review to be really good.

I'll save the other new episodes, though! And I'll keep looking for it to repeat. I took a look and it wasn't repeating in the next week, which means that the new season hasn't started repeating yet on other networks (I think TNT, er SpikeTV or whatever, was airing them last year the weekend after initial airdate).
