jdotmi: (Letalli in WoW)
[personal profile] jdotmi
I need to make a new icon for Letalli. Preferrably animated. While the current icon is spiffy and all, her gear has changed a lot since then.

Got my first level 70 epic item last Thursday: Gloves of Dextrous Manipulation off of Attumen the Huntsman. My regular Karazhan group has Attumen down at this point and is currently wiping on Moroes. :-p It would help if we had more priests and pally's available to lock down the adds. Although, if we add in a different off-tank, I could go caster mode and take care of clearing out blinds and HOT'ing the people who get garotted.

I'm keyed for all the heroics except for Hellfire Citadel. We've got a Shattered Halls run on Tuesday that will take care of that for me. Then I have to start twisting people's arms to get them to work on their Eye and Serpentshrine Cavern attunements. Hopefully soon we can start getting our Alliance running Gruul and Magtheridon. I'm not sure how well the guilds that are doing their guild-only Kara runs are doing, though, since they haven't really updated the rest of us on it yet.

Completed the introduction quests into the Ogri'la faction. Got Honored with the Shatari Skyguard. 4000 gold away from Epic Flight Training. x_x I can probably pull in about 150g a day from farming, so about a month to go or so. Barring catastrophe. :-p

Got my priest up to level 40 and got her an elephant (Elekk) to ride around on. I keep forgetting she has a mount, though, and wind up walking halfway to where I want to go before remembering and using the thing.

And now, I go back to work. Took me an hour to write that much in between calls and waiting for processes to finish.

If your kara group has a hunter or a warlock in the party, have a pet attack Moroes can help eat the blinds/gouge.

Also, these strats are more more healing intensive, but can help if the MT is getting hosed or if you don't have an offtank:

1. If the Main Tank gets Garroted, we don't dispell it. The Garrot damage will remove the Gauge (stun) effect
2. If we lack a decent offtank, we have the MT tank Moroes *with his back to Moroes*. When he's facing your backside, he can't gouge, which lets Moroes run free for 8-10 seconds 1-shotting clothies and leather squishies. Your tank needs high high Dodge and parry, though (and high health!) because you can't block with your shield from your backside.

Grats on the epix! and good luck on Moroes ;)

That's an interesting tactic. I know you can do it by just barely clipping through Moroes and still being able to hit him, but that must take some practice.

It's doable. Just not easy. Not so easy to do when bear tanking because the size of bear form makes it hard to tell.

Or a Paladin Tank. Level 70 Prot Pally here.

Paladin tanks can cast Seals on themselves and Judgement doesn't check for the target to be in front of you; it just needs to be 20 yards away or less.

Our MT Warrior has done the back-tank, too. I know he Sunders often, which I don't think is directional. You just have to use skills that don't explicitly require the target to be in front.

You can also do this "back-tank" thing, too, if your Offtank dies in the fight.

Ah, yes. Consecrate and righteous judgements. But then you REALLY need to stack the dodge. At least you should be receiving regular heals enough that mana shouldn't be an issue. We tend to do the fight normally and we have a paladin off-tank. His #1 complaint is he runs out of mana all too often because he's not receiving much healing.

We usually don't have any way of dispelling the Garrote (we've only had a paladin once, and none of our mages are Frost specced).

Tanking isn't the problem for us. Adds are the problem. We burn down one, cc the rest, and then someone misses clearing a blind on a tank, moroes gouges the other, and a priest dies instantly, meaning we have a free add roaming around.

We typically try and burn through at least 2 adds, and typically 3. Sometimes we'll shoot for 4.

If you use the back-tank strategy, though, you can have your offtank try and tank the adds while you burn them down, which makes you less reliant on CC for the adds.

We don't have the mana to burn through all four. Our primary problem on our last run was nobody cleared the Blinds (our druid didn't realize they were poison). We got him quite far down, but then the healers were OOM and the only non-tanking druid had already burned her innervate on a priest.

Blind = poison: Dwarf tanks rule! Stoneform ftw!

Since the Paladin "free heals" nerf, I've learned to anticipate when to use mana potions. In fights I know are looking dicey, I'll quaff one early on (7K out of 10K mana) so by the time I'm about to go completely OOM, I can quaff another. ALWAYS carry 10 Super Mana potions on my character now.

Stoneform can also quash Garrotte.

All our Dwarfs are Hunters and Priests, sadly.

OMG, I wish we had more dorf priests. Fear Ward is such a big deal in fights sometimes. As it is, our last dwarf priest quit the game and we've only *just* gotten our first 70 draenei priest. Now we have to get them keyed...

I'm sure you (and your raid leader) know the strats to the fight. It's not like it's hard to read up on it on wowhead or something.

My group tends to have one priest for shackling and a mage for kiting. If your guild can spare it, you could stack on those classes. We've even used a warlock with curse of exhaustion once. If the mage is frost or 41 arcane spec'd, slow does wonders on kiting (in addition to affecting almost all of the bosses in Karazhan, Prince Malchezzar included). I don't think we've tried Turn Undead before - makes sense to lock down one add for a bit now that you mention it...

We've got a hunter trapping, two priests shackling, and a rogue stunlocking the one we dps down. We normally don't have a Paladin, but we're hoping to soon.

Speaking of WoW, [livejournal.com profile] aular and [livejournal.com profile] jvankirk gave me one of the new WoW TCG starters for my B-Day and my time is starting to free up a bit. We need to try and get a TCG game night together again sometime soon. I'm looking forward to trying out the new cards.

Yes we do!

We haven't bought any new cards recently due to the lack of playing. Heh.

I hadn't bought new cards for the same reason. ;)
