I'll be nice in case anyone here actually watches the show and TIVO'd it instead of watching it while TIVO recorded it last night like I did. Individual challenge week is always interesting.

The first two challenges I decided I hated Tracee. She was a backstabbing bitch who really should have been gone last week, but whatever. This week? Um. I sorta didn't hate her. Her design wasn't great, but I liked one part of it: the painted chandelier. That was kinda made of win.

Trish's room was nice, but kinda boring. And not particularly Mexican feeling to me. It was definitely a big change from her previous designs, far more modern and less traditional, but nothing really stood out as "that was cool". I think she should have done more paneling on the side walls for visual interest since she didn't have anything else to put on them (due to breakage).

I didn't actually like Stephanie's room. It didn't make much sense to me. The trellis thing was nice, and the seating arrangement was okay, but overall it was a big black box with stuff in it.

Jennifer knocked it out of the park. Her wall treatment was fantastic and she made a nice little seating area. It was very very nice to see her go from the first two challenges, where things really didn't seem to work out, to this one where she really cleaned house.

Mikey V's room was done well. My only real complaint with it is that it was too far into the "theme" that it sorta didn't work out. It looked like a knock-off of Thai. I wouldn't say "fast food" like Vern did, but he went to the literal extreme sorta like Vanessa in Season 1.

Matt's design was a real let down after what he did in the first two challenges. I actually really liked how it looked on TV and I think it worked nicely in the end, but compared to what he's done before it fell flat big time. Also, there was a distinct lack of the shirtless Matt wake-up call at the beginning of the episode, but that reallly has nothing to do with his actual design. :-p

I wasn't really sure what to make of Michael. He got handed a huge break getting on the show in the first place, and he was something of a whiney queen before. Last night's episode, though, I wanted to punch him through a wall. First off, he was an asshole. And he's been far to overconfident the entire season. Second off, his room sucked. The decorative paint was poorly applied (it looked ragged) and, well, Vern did look more Spanish than that room. The floor looked like crap (glass + tv = not so much with the win).

Top two from the judges were Jennifer (woot!) and Stepahnie (um... ok). Really, this was more of a top one plus a consolation prize.

Bottom three were Michael, Tracee, and Matt. This was a no-brainer elimination based on the designs. Tracee and Michael were clearly the two really on the chopping block, but I have to admit I was giddy when Michael got axed. I felt bad for him (and his crying that he wanted his Mommy) but he dug his own grave with this challenge. This challenge was completely his Vanessa moment. So overconfident and completely unprepared for what he needed to actually do. He spent so much time sniping at the other people's designs and not even trying on his own that it was inevitable. Tracee went big, it just didn't work out. Matt went too big and it was unrecognizable, but Michael just kinda went. And now he's gone.

Tracee next week? She looked really happy at Elimination in the previews at least. I'm thinking we'll see more of her than that, though. I'm going to place early bets on either Jennifer, Trish, or Mikey V.
