I finally caught up last night and I'm enjoying it more now. It's still not must-see, but it's not quite let-4-episodes-build-up-on-the-tivo anymore either.

That's kind of where I am with the series, too. And the "unexpected flower person" I knew from the moment she showed up she was a doll.

It's getting decent - I hope they do something with the residual characters at some point.

Oh I knew she was simply because in the initial adverts for the show she and Victor were both listed as dolls (she is November) and we were then told they got retooled out of dollitude, and yet Victor still wound up being Victor after all.

I've watched this episode three times now.

Yeah. That word.

This was such an awesome episode. Very few shows give me a good "holy shit" moment like this one did. And you know the exact scene I'm talking about.

Miracle Laurie's eyes scare the ever living fuck out of me now. Joss knows how to cast the hell out of his shows.

I dunno... I like her eyes. Kinda hypnotic.

Although I do agree about the casting. Great when an actor can act with everything, and not just their words.

That one look, though. That was pretty much all in the eyes. CREEPY

I like the fact that they can make "sleeper" dolls. And apparently field/mode programmable too.

The next big question is whether or not DeWitt is yanking Ballard's chain, or if there really is someone on the inside trying to help him.

Yes... I hope this gets at least a second season. Or failing that, a movie like Firefly got.

If there is someone on the inside, I think it's the awesome snarky asian lab assistant who needs to be a regular or something because she is made of that much awesomesnark. "I live to serve lunch."

Yeah - I believe [livejournal.com profile] winterlady was saying how she too suspects the lab assistant. I personally wouldn't mind more of the awesome-snark myself, I just think she's to obvious. It might be interesting if it's Topher - but then Joss would have to explain him growing a pair, as I don't see him being either brave enough or suicidal enough to take on DeWitt at this stage in his character's development.

But we shall see what we shall see...

I suppose the other option is security dude, but I still think he's just going to get his at the hands of a pissed off Echo at some point.
