jdotmiThanksgiving was good. Good food, although we did have on food casualty. The apple pie did not survive the baking process. Probably because it was, oh, on the BOTTOM RACK OF THE OVEN. It looked like it could be edible, aside from the charred and blackened top layer...
Turkey was great. Stuffing from inside the turkey was excellent, but the stuffing that was pan baked seperately didn't come out as well. It was very bland. It wasn't bad, though. It was just bland.
Mashed potatoes survived. No big snaffus in that one this year. Unlike the infamous inability for Keith to mash the potatoes two years ago because he forgot to boil them first.
Discovered that at least one of our kittens really really really likes turkey. It's my fault, I gave him a little piece of it. He was then ravenous and trying to get at it for hours after. Gave him a can of wet food which both of them managed to COMPLETELY devour. Considering how little wet food they would eat before, I'm kinda surprised. But still, it happened. I'm impressed. I suppose this means they are starting to warm up to us now.
We played a one-shot game of Changeling where the characters were supposed to be designed off of ourselves. It obviously didn't quite work out that way, but it was interesting. We all sucked, with the exception of Ryan's character (a Troll) who actually had some combat ability. I had lots of Performance dots. LOTS of Performance dots... I did use Hopscotch to good effect a few times. Considering my utter fear of heights, jumping straight up 5 stories was probably a "bad thing".
I dread the post-Thanksgiving cleanup, because I'm almost certain very little of it will be done when I get home tonight. It's ok, I don't mind cleaning up some. The living room is in serious need of a vacuuming and the kitchen could use some disinfecting now I'm sure.
All in all, yesterday was quite fun. I was up way too long, but still. I mean, I woke up at like 7am on Wednesday to get ready for work, stayed up once I got home from work, worked Midnight to 8am at Booth, stayed up once I got home, and finally went to bed at about 9:30 last night. That's, what, 38 hours or something?
