Can this man get any more moronic?
Bush vows to protect 'children waiting to be born'

I swear that these people must be wearing blinders. I'd say rose-colored glasses, but people who do that have at least some clue as to what is going on around them. Bush and his people have tunnel vision to the nth degree.
One happy moment in those stories comes from Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts. He is quoted with the following:
<i>"If I get to share a stage with this president and debate him, one of the first things I'll tell him is: `There's a defining issue between us. I trust women to make their own decisions. You don't. And that's the difference.'"</i>
I think it's a little different than that. I think it's that Dubya doesn't trust the American people to make their own decisions. Not that I blame him. I mean, come on, he didn't have a majority of the popular vote to get into office. If the American people were allowed to make their own decisions, well, gee, he'd be unemployed!

I'd be all shocked and surprised and aghast, but, sadly, it doesn't really shock or surprise me. I suppose I can still be aghast...

we demand a sacrifice...we demand...A SHRUBBERY
-since when have children been so "innocent"? Is it only in the Norman Rockwell paintings that the children look so milquetoast and wholesome? Because I've never seen kids who are like that IRL. Just let kids be kids and let them run around and get dirty and jump and break bones and play and do shit that kids do. OK, that was one of the worst sentences I've ever typed, in terms of grammatics.
-"compassionate alternatives to abortion"? Like getting gestational diabetes is so compassionate. What the hell does that mean, compassionate alternatives?
-If he's "building a culture of life in America" as he states in the CNN article, then I fear and weep for the future. hell, he can't even get his kids to wait until they are of legal drinking age before they get busted. He himself has admitted to nose candy (ie cocaine).
-And what pissed me off the most about all these articles and soundbytes is that they're mostly made by politicians who probably had better things to do with their time yesterday rather than be asked by different reporters "How has the Roe v Wade decision affected you?" (sidebar: NPR yesterday had all sorts of abortion stuff on yesterday, so I couldn't even listen to it...grrrrr)
/end rant
