I swear that these people must be wearing blinders. I'd say rose-colored glasses, but people who do that have at least some clue as to what is going on around them. Bush and his people have tunnel vision to the nth degree.

One happy moment in those stories comes from Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts. He is quoted with the following:

<i>"If I get to share a stage with this president and debate him, one of the first things I'll tell him is: `There's a defining issue between us. I trust women to make their own decisions. You don't. And that's the difference.'"</i>

I think it's a little different than that. I think it's that Dubya doesn't trust the American people to make their own decisions. Not that I blame him. I mean, come on, he didn't have a majority of the popular vote to get into office. If the American people were allowed to make their own decisions, well, gee, he'd be unemployed!
