Uh...

The words "mind-numbingly boring" do not begin to describe my morning at work so far.

One hour and twenty minutes into my shift and I get my first call.

*blinks*

I so should have brought something in to do while I sit here.

Oooh yah. I hear you. I, too, am at work, but I'm slaving away at bargain building, bookfair organizing, etc - still bored.

I was so happy when I heard they took remainders out of the store I worked at. They have since brought some back, but no more huge tables of that crap to lug out front every day.

I adore bargain books (that said, I'm odd). I like building the pyramids, seeing what's coming in, and I love the money they make.

That said, the whole "bookfair" thing drives me nuts.

You are a sad, strange man. x_x

Remainders are the spawn of satan and mariah carey.

Now that's just a horribel thing to say- I collect autographed books, and I get a whole lot of 'em thanks to bargain/remainders. At very low prices. Nyeah!

If they're autographed and are remainders then something is seriously wrong. :-p

We once got "Body for Life" on a remainder skid. While it was sitting up on our bestseller shelf. Very amusing.

Remainder skids also include all the "rejected returns." Chances are it had a microscopic ding in it that the publisher...

...on a really bad day...

...decided wasn't return-worthy. ;)

I like those. I buy a whole skid for my store, for what works out to $2.00 a book, and sell them at an inflated percentage which is still a steal... ahhh. :)

Okay, apparently I'm a capitalist pig. That doesn't bode well.

Hehe.

One time we got a copy of "Body for Life" on a remainder skid. This was when I was working at a store (four years ago). The fun part of that was the fact that the exact same book was sitting on our Best Seller shelf. :-p

I hope it's that slow at my work too. Maybe I should bring something to work... Hmm...

Laptop is in car. I'm trying to stick to that entire "no laptop usage during shift" thing that we got yelled at about at that one staff meeting. Of course, I'm probably the only laptop enabled person in the department still doing that, but I also had pretty much nothing to do on it anyway. :-p

Ah! Sundays in Store Support. I remember them well. At first you look forward to a nice, quiet, slow-sh day, and then when NOTHING happens the day drags like mad.

Either that or there is a global outage of catastophic proportions.

It's pretty well been slow. Although Tsai did just kill an NT server. Well, ok, it commited seppuku and he took the page, but still.

Are you at least getting holiday pay?

Sadly it is not a federal holiday, so no. :(
